SkolScore aggregates publicly available school data for informational purposes. We are not a government body, education board, or school. Always verify information directly with the school before making enrollment decisions.
Data Sources
School information on SkolScore comes from four sources:
1. UDISE+ (Unified District Information System for Education)
Government of India database maintained by the Ministry of Education. Provides school enrollment, teacher data, infrastructure, and facility information. Updated annually by schools themselves. Data may lag by 1-2 academic years.
2. CBSE School Directory
Central Board of Secondary Education official directory. Provides affiliation numbers, school contact details, and board-specific information for CBSE-affiliated schools.
3. CISCE Directory
Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations directory. Provides school codes and details for ICSE/ISC-affiliated schools.
4. School Websites
Publicly accessible school websites are used to supplement government data with additional details like admissions process, fee structure, facilities, and extracurricular activities. This data is extracted automatically and may contain errors or be outdated if the school has not updated their website.
Known Limitations
- Data currency - UDISE+ data may be 1-2 years behind the current academic year. Schools self-report this data, and some entries may be inaccurate or incomplete.
- Fee information - Fee structures change annually. Fees shown on SkolScore are from school websites and may not reflect current rates. Always confirm fees directly with the school.
- Website data - Information scraped from school websites may be outdated if the school has not maintained their site. We verify data quality using a confidence scoring system, but errors can occur.
- Coverage gaps - Not all schools have complete data across all fields. Smaller schools and government schools may have less information available.
- School closures and mergers - Some schools in government records may have closed, merged, or changed names. We remove known closures but cannot guarantee real-time accuracy.
SkolScore Rating Methodology
The SkolScore rating (1-10) is calculated using publicly available data across five dimensions:
- Academic (30%) - Board type baseline and available result data.
- Infrastructure (20%) - Labs, library, playground, internet, and other facilities from UDISE+ records.
- Parent Reviews (25%) - Bayesian average of structured parent ratings, weighted to prevent gaming.
- Teacher Quality (15%) - Student-teacher ratio, teacher qualifications (post-graduate, trained), from UDISE+.
- Safety (10%) - Boundary wall, toilets, accessibility ramps, drinking water, from UDISE+.
Schools with insufficient data receive a "data pending" label instead of a score. We do not accept payment from schools to influence their rating.
Corrections and Updates
If you are a school representative and believe information about your school is incorrect, please contact us at schools@skolscore.com with supporting documentation. We will review and update the information within 48 hours. You can also claim your school profile to manage your listing directly.

Listing a school on SkolScore does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation. A high SkolScore rating reflects available data points, not a guarantee of educational quality. We strongly recommend visiting any school in person before making an enrollment decision.
